EVANS, Ga. – Jan. 31, 2008 – University Health Care System has received a Certificate of Occupancy for its Evans Medical Office Building 4 and Diagnostic Imaging Center.
The center is expected to open in late February, according to Kyle Howell, vice president for Support and Facility Services at University.
“University’s commitment to Columbia County is longstanding,” Mr. Howell said. “Over 20 years ago, University invested in this 68-acre property, anticipating the growing health care needs of Columbia County.”
Since then, University's Evans campus has grown to include Brandon Wilde, a nationally recognized retirement community, the Surgery Center of Columbia County, a Sleep Center, Prompt Care, Occupational Medicine services, a Speech and Hearing Center and more than 20 private practice physician groups. The latest addition includes the 60,000-square-foot fourth Medical Office Building and a state-of-the-art Diagnostic Imaging Center that includes the latest in digital mammography, Mr. Howell said.
Planning a project of this magnitude takes a tremendous team of people from architects to physicians and we are greatly indebted to those people who were pioneers in establishing our services on this campus because they believed there was a need, Mr. Howell said.
