2010 United Way Campaign Surpasses Goals
AUGUSTA, GA. (Jan. 8, 2010) – University employees went above and beyond expectations in the 2010 United Way Campaign, pledging almost 15 percent more than the previous year.
Overall pledges totaled $79,924 for 2010. Combined with a $10,000 gift from University Health Care System and another $2,613 in cash donations, the total commitment from University for 2010 exceeds $92,000.
“University Health Care System has always been a leader in community outreach, and we are thrilled, once again, that the employees have rallied together to raise such an outstanding amount for the people of the CSRA,” said La Verne Gold, President/CEO of United Way.
University Health Care Foundation President & CEO Pete Brodie congratulated the United Way Steering Committee volunteers who were involved in presenting the United Way story to hospital employees.
“The compassion our employees have shown in supporting the needs of so many is a wonderful gift to our community,” Mr. Brodie said. “This would not have happened without the personal effort of the employee campaign volunteers.”
