University’s Annual Portraits of Life Showcased at Macy’s
(AUGUSTA, GA. -- Oct. 12, 2009) University Hospital’s annual Portraits of Life are available for viewing through October at Macy’s in the Augusta Mall.
The Portraits of Life are 10 local women who are chosen to represent the hundreds of breast cancer cases diagnosed throughout the area every year. Their stories of survival are meant to inspire other women to continue the fight against breast cancer whether they’ve been recently diagnosed or are a longtime survivor.
In addition to the Portraits of Life, University Hospital held the annual Breast Cancer Survivor Dinner on Oct. 1 at the North Augusta Community Center. Four hundred people attended the special event, which included dinner and a fashion show presented by Macy’s and featuring the 10 Portraits of Life women.
The event, which is cosponsored by Macy’s and Comcast, was emceed by WJBF news anchor Brad Means and included comments by Pam Anderson, Director of University Hospital’s Cancer Services and the Breast Health Center, and Kym Parrish, Macy’s Merchandise Team Manager.
