Lynda Jones named CSRA Nurse of the Year
Lynda Jones, RN, Director of Cardiovascular, Renal and Respiratory Services at University Hospital, was named CSRA Nurse of the Year during the 2011 Spirit of Nursing Showcase on May 6, an event sponsored by the CSRA Chapter of the Georgia Nurses Association.
Lynda was nominated by Liz Price, Director of Women’s Services, who wrote: “It’s because of nurse leaders like Lynda that we can continue to face the unknowns and challenges of the future in healthcare and succeed. We must have strong leaders who step up to the plate, who care first and foremost about our patients, their families, and our staff families, who go across traditional boundaries, and who maintain nursing integrity and passion for excellence. This is Lynda Jones!”
Every year during Nurses Week, the Spirit of Nursing Showcase celebrates the contributions of registered nurses in the CSRA. Area nurses are nominated in the categories of Staff Nurse, Nurse Educator, Home Health, Nurse Manager, Administrator and Advanced Practice. The CSRA Nurse of the Year is chosen from the finalists in each of these categories.
