Aetna donation supports Breast Health Center
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Oct. 6, 2009 – Aetna Inc. presented a $10,000 check to University Hospital’s Breast Health Center to support breast cancer screenings and care for under-insured women in the Augusta area.
“Aetna is urging people to take responsibility for their health and wellness," said Cynthia Follmer, Aetna’s Georgia market president. "One of the most important things women can do is to focus on prevention, such as getting yearly mammograms that are offered through University’s Breast Health Center. Our relationship with University Hospital is very important to us and we look forward to more opportunities positively impact the Augusta community."
Pamela Anderson, R.N., Cancer Services Program Coordinator at University Hospital said the donation is much needed to assist University in its mission to create a healthier community.
“We are very appreciative of the donation and the support from Aetna to help us serve our community and provide mammography screenings to local women,” she said.
