Brandon Wilde Celebrates National Senior
& Fitness Day
(EVANS, GA. May 24, 2011) Keeping fit is important to everyone, but it’s especially vital for seniors. Staying active and exercising regularly can produce long-term health benefits and even improve the health of some seniors with disease and disabilities.
That’s why Brandon Wilde, Columbia County’s premier life care community, is proud to participate in the 20th annual National Senior Health and Fitness Day on Wednesday, May 29.
This event is an annual opportunity for Brandon Wilde’s wellness staff to showcase and promote unique ways to add exercise into its residents’ lives and encourage them to continue exercising to increase and/or maintain their health.
Brandon Wilde has planned a full day of events, classes and activities, including Andrew Forgay, M.D., a pain management physician who practices at University Hospital, will hold a Lunch and Learn session on back pain from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
The Brandon Wilde team is especially excited this year because staff and residents have spent months training for a Couch-to-5K race they will hold on the Brandon Wilde grounds.
