University’s Wound & Hyperbaric Center Receives National Recognition

Augusta, GA. – University Hospital Wound & Hyperbaric Center has been awarded the Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM) Award from Healogics, a Jacksonville, Fla.-based provider of advanced wound care services.

"We are thrilled to announce that we are presenting the University team with the TEAM award for outstanding service," said Mike Tanner, Senior Vice President of Healogics. "University’s dedication and determination to treat patients has not gone unnoticed. Barriers they have faced as a team have made them stronger and helped bind them together for the mission at Healogics and University Hospital."

Here are some of the statistics the Wound & Hyperbaric team have excelled in:

  • Increasing Productivity and Profitability: New Patient growth was 35 percent in 2012 and currently in 2013 they have had 372 new patients with the goal for the year being 400. They are confident they will exceed at least 35 percent again. In 2012 their revenue was $3,373,607 for Partner Hospital and YTD 2013 is at $3,965,517, exceeding last year.
  • Improving Healing Outcomes: In 2012 their overall healing rate was 86 percent and YTD it is 88 percent. Days to heal in 2012 was 29 and YTD it is 27.
  • Developing People and Culture: "This is where your Center exceeds greatly," Mr. Tanner said. "Your efforts to continue to internally affirm to the staff and physicians that their actions do not go unnoticed and are appreciated, assist in growing our culture. I believe we do not have staff turnover because each employee feels a calling to make that difference in lives of patients.

Healogics and University Hospital allow each of us a pathway to accomplish this daily. During our most stressful times, our staff could have chosen to leave for other jobs, but they stayed and continued to grow in their commitment to the patients, knowledge of wound care and heal wounds."
