University Hospital Designated an
Aetna Institute of Quality
Wednesday, June 25 (Augusta, Ga.) – University Hospital's multi-disciplinary Structural Heart Clinic, which is the only hospital in the region to perform the minimally invasive Transaortic Valve Replacement, is proud to announce this week that it is the first hospital in Georgia or South Carolina to commercially use the new 29 mm SAPIEN XT Transcatheter Heart Valve from Edwards Lifesciences.
University Hospital has been designated an Aetna Institute of Quality® Orthopedic Care Facility for total joint replacement and spine surgery.
Aetna makes information about the quality and cost of health care services available to its members to help them make informed decisions about their health care needs. In line with this goal, Aetna recognizes hospitals and facilities in its network that offer specialized clinical services for certain health conditions. Facilities are selected for consistently delivering evidence-based, safe care.
“At University Hospital, we are pleased to announce we have obtained this designation as we are dedicated to our focus on quality care, patient safety and outcomes as well as the cost of care,” said Reyne Gallup, MSN, BSN, RN, ONC and director of Medical/Surgical Nursing Services at University Hospital. “We are proud to celebrate this designation with our community as a premier Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgery Hospital.”
