On a Nov. 15 stop in Augusta during its "10 days of giving campaign," BI-LO honored University Health Care Foundation's work by presenting them with a check for $6,020. The funds are from the 23rd BI-LO Charity Classic, the largest single-day charity golf tournament in the United States.
"The Foundation has been fortunate to be a beneficiary of the BI-LO Charity Classic for seven years," said Foundation President Pete Brodie. "In 1999, BI-LO established the Camp Whispering Wind endowment with us to support a community health initiative for kids ages 8-17. These kids, all of whom have asthma and require daily medication, need medical instruction so that they can self manage their disease. While the program has evolved over the years, it has been through the generosity of BI-LO that we have been able to provide that assistance to both kids and their parents."
