University Health Care System Honored with 2006 Healthcare Advertising Awards July 3, 2007

AUGUSTA, GA. – May 21, 2007 – University Health Care System has received multiple awards in the 24th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report, the oldest, largest and most widely respected healthcare advertising awards competition.

University is being honored with two gold, one silver, one bronze and three merit awards in this year’s competition. With a record number of more than 4,300 entries, participants compete against similarly-sized organizations from all across the United States. A national panel of judges was engaged in reviewing all entries based on creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact.

University earned a gold award in the category of multimedia advertising for hospitals 500 to 800 beds for their current campaign featuring Augusta area landmarks. They received a second gold award for their television spots featuring physicians from the University Hospital Medical Staff with messages on early detection and prevention. In addition to these top honors, University earned five additional awards for a variety of print and advertising initiatives.

University was the most recognized organization in Georgia receiving a total of seven Healthcare Advertising Awards. Amy Winn, director of Corporate Communications for University Health Care System, credits this accomplishment to a terrific in-house team and a successful partnership with HWN Brand Marketing based in Atlanta.

“I am also delighted that the aerial film footage we shot for our big campaign was used by the Augusta Metro Chamber during this year’s Master’s Golf Tournament to spotlight Augusta to prospective businesses evaluating our community,” Ms. Winn said.
