How quickly can I expect to be seen?
It is our goal to see and treat patients as quickly as possible. However, during peak hours of operation and when acute patients are being treated, wait times may be longer than usual. Patients with extreme situations (cardiac problems, severe lacerations, etc) who arrive during hours of operation will be seen immediately.
If you do not already have an existing
relationship with a physician, we will be
happy to help you find one through our
University HealthService Center. Call 706/SER-VICE (737-8423) in the Augusta area or toll free1/800/476-SERV (7378) outside Augusta, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You will speak with a registered nurse who can help you locate a physician to fit your specific needs. By
calling, you’ll have access to more than
450 highly skilled physicians who practice
at University Hospital.
Our Philosophy is Simple: Our Patients Are Our Priority
Putting the needs of our patients and their families first is our number one priority. We try to keep these needs in mind in every aspect of how we manage our facilities and deliver the highest quality health care possible. If there is anything we can do to improve your experience at either of our locations, please feel free to let us know.
Fees and Payment Procedures
- Prompt Care files insurance claims as a courtesy to our patients.
- All payments are ultimately the responsibility of the patient.
- Since Prompt Care is not an emergency room, all claims will be filed as regular office visits.
- All office copays are required during registration at the time of your visit.
- Self-pay patients are required to pay in full upon dismissal.
- Major credit cards are accepted.
- Full payment is required for insurance
when deductibles have not been met. All others will be required to pay expected percentages upon dismissal.
- Prompt Care is not a Medicaid provider.
- Prompt Care cannot file insurance
for out-of-state residents unless they have Medicare.
When should you use a Prompt Care facility?
Go to Prompt Care when you and your family need treatment for urgent health care needs. Prompt Care is a walk-in facility with no appointment necessary. You may see a Prompt Care physician for
conditions such as minor cuts, sprains,
infections, sore throats, broken bones,
intestinal complaints, insect bites, etc.
What services are available?

you will always be evaluated and treated
at Prompt Care by a board-certified
