University Hospital Makes Visitation Recommendations
To ensure patient safety and help control the spread of the flu virus, University Hospital is asking that visitation be limited to a patient’s immediate family and/or members of their household.
Ministers, please note: We are asking ministers when possible to limit patient visitation. Also, please ask visitation groups in your congregations to refrain from visiting patients during flu season.
Also, no one younger than 12 years of age will be allowed to visit.
Individuals with flu-like symptoms should not visit any patients at University Hospital.
These symptoms include:
Fever (usually high)
Headache
Tiredness (can be extreme)
Cough
Sore throat
Runny or stuffy nose
Body aches
Diarrhea and vomiting (more common among children than adults)
ALL VISITORS should wash their hands thoroughly or use hand sanitizer before and after seeing patients and should refrain from touching their faces or those of patients.
Please understand that these precautions will help protect our patients and their families. The safety of our patients is always of utmost importance at University Hospital.
