Symptoms of a Heart Attack

Heart disease claims the lives of more than 450,000 men and 505,000 women each year in the United States.*  Many would have survived had they recognized the signs:

Men's Symptoms

  • Crushing chest pain
  • Pain radiating down the left arm 
  • Lightheadedness
  • Sweating
  • Fainting

Women's Symptoms

  • Very unusual fatigue
  • Unusual shortness of breath
  • Nausea and dizziness
  • Lower chest discomfort
  • Back pain
  • Indigestion or gas-like pain
  • Pain spreading to shoulders, arm, neck and jaw

If you have any of these symptoms, call 911 immediately.
