In early 2021, University Health Care Foundation (now Piedmont Augusta Foundation) was in full swing, gearing up for a busy year filled with community engagement, events and meetings. As the philanthropic arm for Piedmont Augusta and Piedmont McDuffie, the foundation ensures the hospital has the resources needed to care for our community and fulfill its purpose: To make a positive difference in every life we touch. Now that 2022 is behind us, we can confidently say our donors DID help Piedmont fulfill its purpose, but in ways no one could have imagined.

About the Foundation
In 1978, Harry W. Jernigan Jr. established Piedmont Augusta Foundation to serve as the philanthropic arm of Piedmont Augusta hospital. Over 40 years later, both the Foundation and Piedmont Augusta hospital have grown exponentially and share the same purpose: to make a positive difference in every life we touch.
From patient assistance to employee scholarships, capital support and vital equipment purchases, the Foundation provides the financial resources necessary to ensure the optimum level of care to our community. The Foundation fills the void in our community’s healthcare services by funding programs and projects that have insufficient resources and are deemed critical healthcare needs.
