Capital and Priority Needs

Joseph D. Lee, M.D. Endowment: This endowment was established to support priority needs at Kentwood not provided for in the operating or capital budget. Patient items such as special scales, wheelchairs, and beautification projects are among the suggestions from patients, family, and friends at Kentwood.

Laboratory Endowment: This endowment was established to provide funding for the priority needs of Laboratory Services to include continuing education for the lab employees, scholarships for Medical Technology and related allied health students, research and development related to laboratory technology, marketing of laboratory services and the Friends Helping Friends program, which provides up to $250 in needed financial assistance to lab employees.

Finance Endowment: This endowment was established to assist with priority needs of University Hospital that could be as specific as a capital equipment item or as broad as support for indigent patients, with priority being given to the training and educational needs of Finance Division employees.

Pharmacy Endowment: This endowment was established to provide support for pharmacy department capital, ACPE conference attendance expenses for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians while employed at University Hospital, Georgia state pharmacy board registration for technicians not otherwise provided for in the operating or capital budgets, and for scholarships for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians pursuing basic and advanced pharmacy education as determined by a scholarship awards committee.

Speech & Hearing Endowment: This endowment was established to provide funds for continuing education for the staff and for equipment and programs not covered in the annual operating or capital budgets.

Adult Critical Care Endowment: This endowment is used to meet the educational needs of the Critical Care Staff, purchase equipment needed to care for critical care patients and to assist with any operational needs in addition to the budget of adult Critical Care Units.

Westwood Endowment: This endowment was established to provide for priority needs of Westwood to include continuing education of Westwood staff, patient items such as special scales, wheelchairs, and beautification projects. Use of this endowment’s income is limited to expenses not provided in the operating or capital budgets.

Health Information Services Endowment: This endowment assists with priority needs of the Health Information Services Department at University Hospital.
