The Device Clinic team provides care for people with heart rhythm disorders. We have a team approach to managing the follow up of a patient’s pacemaker, implantable cardioverter defibrillator or biventricular device. We perform a complete evaluation of device function and diagnostic information to ensure the device is optimally programmed to provide the patient with the best quality of life and maximize the device functionality. Reports are sent on to physicians who specialize in Electrophysiology and are made available to the patient’s primary cardiologist as well. Many patients also are provided with ongoing monitoring of device function at appropriate intervals via the telephone or bedside monitor.
Holter Monitoring services are provided where a specially designed recorder can document a patient's heart rate and rhythm over a period of 24 or 48 hours. Event monitoring allows extended recording of the heart rhythm for up to one month. This recording is then reviewed by a cardiologist.
