ACE™ ACCREDITATION
Piedmont Augusta is fully accredited for cardiac catheterization, percutaneous coronary intervention and electrophysiology by Accreditation for Cardiovascular Excellence, an organization dedicated to ensuring adherence to the highest quality standards for cardiovascular and endovascular care.
IAC® ACCREDITATION
Piedmont Augusta has Nuclear/PET and Vascular Lab accreditation from the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, which evaluates facilities that provide medical imaging and interventional procedures to ensure quality patient care. Piedmont Augusta’s Vascular Lab accreditation includes recognition for extracranial cerebrovascular testing, intracranial cerebrovascular testing, peripheral venous testing, peripheral arterial testing and visceral vascular testing.
CREDENTIALED DNV GL - HEALTHCARE VAD FACILITY /CMS Certified Ventricular Assist Device Program
Piedmont Augusta has been credentialed as a Ventricular Assist Device facility by DNV GL, an organization that credentials VAD programs on behalf of CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services). The VAD credentialing process evaluates the following areas to ensure patient safety and the program’s effectiveness:
- Quality management system
- Program management
- Staffing management
- Infection prevention and control
- VAD Program service delivery
- Evaluation of the multidisciplinary approach from pre-hospital care through discharge planning
PIEDMONT AUGUSTA RECEIVES CYCLE FIVE ACCREDITATION FROM SOCIETY OF CARDIOVASCULAR PATIENT CARE
Piedmont Augusta has received full Cycle Five Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI Accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC). An Accredited Chest Pain Center’s (CPC) evidence-based, protocol-driven and systematic approach to cardiac patient care allows clinicians to reduce time to treatment during the critical early stages of a heart attack. Accredited facilities better monitor patients when it is not initially clear whether or not a patient is having a coronary event. Piedmont Augusta was the first healthcare facility in our region to receive the Cycle Five accreditation.
BCBS ASSOCIATION DESIGNATES PIEDMONT AUGUSTA A BLUE DISTINCTION CENTER+ FOR CARDIAC CARE
Piedmont Augusta is a cardiac care Blue Distinction Center+ for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia. The BDC+ national designation program recognizes healthcare facilities for their expertise and cost efficiency in delivering specialty care. Piedmont Augusta is the only hospital in our region to receive this designation for cardiac care.
