University Hospital Performs 100th MitraClip Procedure

University Hospital is proud to have performed our 100th MitraClip procedure on Monday, Aug. 12, 2019! University Hospital is the only facility in our region to offer this lifesaving procedure for patients who have been diagnosed with a leaky heart mitral valve, causing what is called mitral regurgitation. Patients who cannot tolerate traditional surgery may be candidates for a MitraClip, in which the mitral valve is accessed with a catheter guided through a vein in the leg to reach the heart. Congratulations to the whole team!
