The Breast Health Center's educational initiative is deeply rooted in our community. Yearly mammograms are covered by Medicare and most insurance companies.

Our Breast Health Nurse Navigators are experienced registered nurses, offering one-on-one patient education. In addition to instruction on breast awareness, they provide teaching and support before and after surgery, as well as genetic counseling and testing.

Trained speakers are available for civic, church, business and employee groups by calling 706/774-4141. Topics range from proper techniques in breast awareness to the value of including prevention and early detection in an employee wellness program.

Our Breast Health Center offers books on breast health, pamphlets from the American Cancer Society and other organizations, and access to pre-approved health care Web sites.

Piedmont Augusta also hosts breast health classes and support groups to help you learn more about breast cancer.
